The FlumeGate™ is central to large-scale open canal modernization projects.
The FlumeGate™ is an "overshot" gate that combines both precision control and accurate flow measurement in the one product - each being essential elements in the system-wide control of open canal irrigation networks.
There are now in excess of 5,000 FlumeGates™ installed worldwide, mostly operating in continuous automated mode - with a number of these having now been in operation for over seven years.
The FlumeGate™ is a unique three panel (FormiPanel™) gate assembly and seal design.
The gate leaf is connected to side panel quadrants that interface with the pinion drive of the CableDrive™ mechanism.
A continuous seal runs around the external faces of the side panel and the pivot edge of the gate leaf. The patented design is mechanically more efficient than traditional overshot designs and with vastly improved sealing.
Accurate flows are measured for both free and submerged flows (minimum 40mm head differential).
The FlumeGate™ is designed for long life in the harsh environment of the irrigation industry and the high duty associated with automated operation.
