The ValveGate™ is a specialist water control gate that offers a solution where there are physical limitations with the location of gate drive mechanisms.
The ValveGate™ is an "undershot" gate where the drive mechanism in horizontally located. The gate panel moves from a vertical closed position to a horizontal fully open position.
The ValveGate™ is also readily integrated into Rubicon's Sonaray™ Flume Meter providing an integrated flow meter and control gate.
The ValveGate™ has been purposely designed to control the flow streamlines through the measurement section of the Sonaray™ Flume Meter ensuring accurate measurement, even with the gate immediately downstream of the meter.
This meter-gate combination has the unique features of highly accurate, non-intrusive flow meter with an integrated water control gate - often difficult to achieve in the one compact product.
The ValveGate™ pivots around two axes. Each of the axis pivot points are contained in slider mechanisms. One axis moves in a horizontal path whist the other in an approximately vertical path. The resultant motion is of a flat gate panel that rotates from a vertical closed position to a horizontal open position.
All panels use Rubicon's FormiPanel™ technology.
The gate seal is located on the edge of the gate panel which in turn seals against the vertical side panels of the flume structure. In its fully closed position the gate seal is compressed against a defined and slightly raised profile of the flume side panels and bottom panel.
One of the unique designs of the ValveGate™ is its low load actuation. The location of the pivot points ensures minimal water loading is transferred to the gate drive mechanism.
